Gilbert Garden

The Gilbert Garden was created in 2014, with support from the Cosmopolitan, Garden Farms, and Green Our Planet. The garden is used to teach students science, healthy eating habits, sustainable gardening, and an appreciation for nature.  We expanded our garden this year, and currently have a learning space, 9 raised garden beds, two herb spirals, and 15 fruit trees. We grow a variety of vegetables and fruit, which are available to Gilbert families on a bi-monthly basis throughout the year.

We also host an annual Chef demonstration with a visiting Cosmopolitan chef, who uses produce from our garden to whip up healthy and delicious recipes for the community. This year, cilantro salad dressing was created, bottled, and sold.

Coming in the 2016-2017 school year...Garden Club.
