Collage is the school chorus at Gilbert. It is composed of interested 4th and 5th grade students, based on an audition process. Collage rehearses once a week, with a focus on developing musical skills through singing technique, creative movement, listening, and improvisation. We prepare and perform a wide variety of music, from traditional tunes to today's popular hits. Student-generated choreography gives our performances that extra "pizzazz". Most importantly, we sing together to share our love of music with others and to have FUN!
Collage performs on Winter and Spring Matinee days at Gilbert. We also accept invitations to perform in the community. Recent highlights include our performance at the Smith Center's Nevada Sesquicentennial All-Star Concert, visiting a recording studio to record "Home Means Nevada" with Las Vegas headliner Frankie Moreno, and helping to collect socks, shoes, and books for needy children at the Rox in Sox Children's Music and Book Festival. Collage has also appeared on Vegas PBS.
