From the Counselor's Office

Character Counts
Character education is key to developing a positive school climate. Educators that implement character education create a healthy school culture, reduce discipline concerns, and increase academic achievement. It also improves overall job satisfaction! Character education involves everyone in the school. The goal of implementing character education at Gilbert is not only to increase academic achievement, but to help our students become responsible, caring, and contributing citizens. Each month Gilbert will put the spotlight on a designated character trait, bringing it to life with guidance lessons from the counseling office, announcements, recognition activities, and visual displays throughout the school.

Growth Mindset
Growth mindset: “In a growth mindset, people believe that their most basic abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work—brains and talent are just the starting point. This view creates a love of learning and a resilience that is essential for great accomplishment.”
